ZYKLON - THE HEARTLAND - CD From 1979 - 1982 there was only ONE minimal synth / industrial band in MICHIGAN...and that band was ZYKLON... About 10 years ago I was lucky enough to find a tattered copy of their lone 7 inch on GRIM RECORDS.... I was FLOORED to realize that this band was playin this CREEPY SHIT about a half hours drive from where I had grown up. These midwest dudes had a seriously STRANGE take on the synth/industrial sound. Killer washes of heavy electronic noise connected by buzzes of minimal melodic synth and truly dismal and dry half-sung vocals w/ occasional call and response..ruling especially on their classic WIR SIND. Totally WEIRD SHIT that sounded like nothing else. This CD is a heavy historical document of MICHIGAN NOISE. I hope the boys plan on letting more some of their unreleased gems out of the vault..
